Fudgy Brownie Recipe

Brownies! Who doesn't like a hot sizzling brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream topped with chocolate sauce! Well frankly, I am getting a craving for it just as I write this post ;)
Now this is a Dessert which is high in calories and pretty much no nutritional value. But I guess if you are planning on making this tempting ambrosia, you have pretty much already thrown caution to the wind. I know I cannot resist a brownie, and I guess its ok to give yourself the freedom to eat what you crave for once in a while.

Precise timing is of utmost importance when making brownies. Remember...brownies are not cake. It has to be a bit moist and fudgy inside. The perfect brownie is the one with crinkly top and dense fudgy middle. Its easy to bake, and chances are that you already have the ingredients handy. If you have Butter, Eggs, Cocoa and Sugar, you are good to go.

The one thing that you might realize if you are a regular reader of my blog is my love for butter...There is no such thing as too much butter. You can never go wrong with it...Butter to food is like breath to life.

Anyways...getting back to the recipe in hand. Here it is...for those with a sweet tooth who can't stay away from chocolate...the recipe for Fudgy Brownie, from the Boy who cooks...

Course: Dessert
Taste: Heavenly :)

Ingredients:

For the Brownie:
  •      4 Eggs
  •      8oz melted Butter
  •      1 cup brown sugar
  •      1 cup white sugar
  •      1/2 cup flour
  •      1 1/4 cup cocoa powder (I prefer the Hershey's Unsweetened cocoa)
  •      2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  •      1/2 teaspoon salt
  •      1/2 teaspoon baking powder
For the Frosting:
  •      3 tablespoon melted butter
  •      3 tablespoon cocoa powder
  •      2 tablespoon Honey
  •      1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •      1 cup white sugar
  •      Walnut pieces
Recipe:

Preparing Brownie:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degree F and grease the baking pan with butter
  • In a bowl, add the brown and white sugar to the melted butter and whisk together
  • Now add the cocoa powder, small proportion at a time and keep stirring the mixture till there are no lumps
  • Beat the eggs in the mixture and mix
  • Add the flour and mix it together, making sure that there are no lumps
  • Add the baking powder, salt and vanilla extract and stir well
  • spread the batter in the already greased baking pan and put it in the pre heated oven for 25-30min
  • Check by inserting a toothpick at the center to the brownie after 25min...it should probably be done by now. If not, keep it for another 5 min and then turn off the oven. Do not overcook
  • Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool. Let the brownie cool before you cut it
Preparing the Frosting:
  • Combine the frosting ingredients mentioned above
  • Stir till it forms a smooth mixture
  • Apply the frosting on the brownie while the brownie is still warm. Warm brownie makes the frosting easy to apply
Garnish with walnut pieces. Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and chocolate sauce.

The Boy Who Cooks

A Software Engineer by profession, I started cooking very recently and now just can't get enough of it. I don't adhere to one specific diet...I am more of a cook on the whim kind of a person. No one is born a great cook...One learns by doing. In the words of Julia Child, 'The only real stumbling block is the fear of failure. In cooking, you've got to have a what-the-hell attitude'.
